Dear friends, I’m sure you know many of the good things that the North Hunterdon Rotary has done right here in our area, but you might not know Rotary is an international group that helps people all over the world. I’m writing to you to ask for your support for a school that the North Hunterdon Rotary Club is supporting. Hogar del Niño is an incredible non-profit institution dedicated to helping 1,500 children in La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Hogar del Niño includes a nursery, K-12 school, school for the deaf, and a dental clinic and medical clinic. Some members of my Rotary have visited Hogar del Niño over the years and now we are ready to begin the task of raising funds for this very worthwhile organization. La Romana is a very poor area. Many of the streets are unpaved, many of the homes have no running water, and the electricity goes out every night for hours at a time. But what the people lack in luxuries (or, what we would call essentials) they more than make up for in pride, spirit, and a desire to get ahead. And the North Hunterdon Rotary is partnering with a Rotary club in La Roman to help make that happen. The needs at Hogar del Niño are great, but what I’m asking you for is relatively small. Twenty-five or fifty dollars would be a great help, one hundred dollars would be wonderful. We are hoping that Rotary International will match what we raise, so your gift will go even further. You can learn more about Hogar del Niño by visiting their website, http://www.hogardelnino.com. Both the North Hunterdon Rotary Foundation (Tax ID # 52-1759941) and Hogar del Niño (Tax ID # 52-1273588) are registered as non-profit organizations. I’ve provided an envelope so you can send a tax-deductable check made out to the North Hunterdon Rotary Foundation. Your gift will help change the lives of some very wonderful, very poor but very hopeful children and in the Dominican Republic. I know from experience how rewarding that can be. Thanks very much for your help.
Sincerely,
Jim Robinson |
